Vienna Woods to central Nisene Marks & Porter Loop - 6+ miles

This hike is of moderate distance and elevation, but we will aim for a relatively fast pace (~2.5 mph, stopping now and then for a closer look), starting from the famed Vienna Woods entrance. There is no parking or entrance fee, due to street parking, but if we have a dozen or more participants, we will carpool over from the Safeway / Peet’s Coffee parking lot. From Vienna Woods we will hike into, and around, central Nisene Marks.

Our route may be adjusted based on attendees preferences, but be prepared for a minimum of 6.3 miles and 1,100' Elevation gain. If you have Alltrails, download our default route. If multiple hikers can navigate by map, the group will have more options to split into longer and shorter hikes. Otherwise, we will stick with our ~6 miles option.

Bring: Hiking shoes with excellent tread. Clothing that will protect you from poison oak. Water, snacks, sunscreen, and any other items you'll need on a hike of this distance and elevation gain.
