What we're about
Conscious Connections sessions are sharing circles that facilitate compassion, kindness and respect for ourselves and for one another.
The purpose of Conscious Connections is to come together to collectively hold compassionate loving space for each other. We do our best to suspend judgement and we refrain from criticism. We recognize when judgement comes up and we understand that judgement to be a reflection of ourselves. If I'm having a judgement, it says more about me, than it does about the person I may be judging. This awareness helps us to let go of judgement and replace it with compassion and acceptance for everyone in the room.
The intention of Conscious Connections is to create a safe and supportive environment, this encourages everyone to show up and be real. We do our best to check our egos at the door and authentically show up.
This is not a place for debate or criticism... this is a place for love and acceptance. The safe space we create gives everyone an opportunity to be seen, heard and understood for who they truly are.
In The Sharing Circle:
- We will listen actively, resist the urge to interrupt, judge and give advice.
- We will be honest with ourselves and open to new perspectives.
- We will be kind to ourselves and be mindful of the space that we take up.
- We will be respectful and understanding of ourselves and others.
- We will commit to the confidential and inclusive nature of this environment.
We look forward to seeing you there,
- The Conscious Connections team
Conscious Connections gatherings provide opportunities to connect with others in a sharing circle. Though we welcome the sharing of feelings, these are not therapy groups. If you are in mental health distress or having thoughts of harming yourself or others, this group may not be the best fit until you feel more stable. A local crisis line or local hospital might provide guidance. We aim to share in a way that is respectful and supportive of others. Aggression toward any individual or group will not be tolerated. Let’s create a safe space for sharing.
