What we're about

Conscious Connections sessions are sharing circles that facilitate compassion, kindness and respect for ourselves and for one another.

The purpose of Conscious Connections is to come together to collectively hold compassionate loving space for each other. We do our best to suspend judgement and we refrain from criticism. We recognize when judgement comes up and we understand that judgement to be a reflection of ourselves. If I'm having a judgement, it says more about me, than it does about the person I may be judging. This awareness helps us to let go of judgement and replace it with compassion and acceptance for everyone in the room.

The intention of Conscious Connections is to create a safe and supportive environment, this encourages everyone to show up and be real. We do our best to check our egos at the door and authentically show up.

This is not a place for debate or criticism... this is a place for love and acceptance. The safe space we create gives everyone an opportunity to be seen, heard and understood for who they truly are.

In The Sharing Circle:

  • We will listen actively, resist the urge to interrupt, judge and give advice.
  • We will be honest with ourselves and open to new perspectives.
  • We will be kind to ourselves and be mindful of the space that we take up.
  • We will be respectful and understanding of ourselves and others.
  • We will commit to the confidential and inclusive nature of this environment.

We look forward to seeing you there,
- The Conscious Connections team

Disclaimer:
Conscious Connections gatherings provide opportunities to connect with others in a sharing circle. Though we welcome the sharing of feelings, these are not therapy groups. If you are in mental health distress or having thoughts of harming yourself or others, this group may not be the best fit until you feel more stable. A local crisis line or local hospital might provide guidance. We aim to share in a way that is respectful and supportive of others. Aggression toward any individual or group will not be tolerated. Let’s create a safe space for sharing.

Today’s Session:
Humans are social animals! We connect with each other by sharing stories, cracking jokes, and even by making small talk. Communication is a key part of all relationships and is essential to having successful relationships. The quality of communication has a major impact on our everyday lives and the people we interact with. Effective communication can be a great way to convey ideas and feelings. We can use communication as a powerful tool to help us unpack whatever is going on. Sometimes finding the right words can help solve so many issues.

Come Join us during our Friday session, to talk about all things communication! We will focus on the positive impacts of communication and just how tricky it can be to engage in effective communication.

In This Online Session:
We will create safe sharing spaces to explore and deepen our understanding of ourselves and build relationships with others. This is an open, inclusive and confidential space where our differences bring us together. Through emotional intelligence, mindfulness, building trust and undivided attention, this space will allow for participants to explore within and authenticity to flourish.

Today’s Session:
The general intention that is kept throughout my sessions is that of exploring deeper within yourself but also allowing others to go deeper within themselves. Regardless if it is a negative or positive share you have, it is always a freeing experience to just share your most authentic self as a way of finding your most loving self. This will require no judgment from others but also no judgment from within yourself. Let us keep the guidelines of the gathering in mind and I am very excited to explore this topic and intention with you all today.

[Conscious Connections] Healing From Shame (with Minh)

Today’s Session:
What is shame? Is it an emotional construct we all learn to have? Does it come from our parents? From society? Why do most of us have it, and yet so many seemingly don’t? Even more specific than that? What is shame to you? When was the last time you felt shameful? And was that shame well deserved, or was it forced upon you by others?

In this session today, we will try to find out the root of our shame. We will try to dwell down into our subconscious, and bring out the vulnerability within to truly understand and liberate ourselves. We will also leave our fear and judgement at the door to better connect with ourselves and with others. And while it is not mandatory to share one’s stories, it is certainly recommended to do so. Finally, we will not give our unsolicited advices unless given permission to do so, nor will we interrupt another participant.
