Hello there,

This group was FOC-LA and is now Content Creators LA.

FOC-LA was deactivated years ago, so I took the initiative to organize and create something similar and more relevant to where we are.

The objective of this group is to gather creators from all over LA and start collaborating now!

Content marketing has been the gold standard for over a decade. The technology supporting content marketing has evolved. The vast array of software that supports content marketing and media channels over which content can be broadcast make the discipline of content marketing seem daunting. This is especially true for individuals or smaller companies that do not have huge marketing teams to successfully implement a content marketing strategy.

What does that mean to you?

You now have the opportunity to start creating content and help small brands stand out.

By 2020, 75% of mobile traffic will be video. In today’s widely fragmented and competitive market, brands around the world are always looking for the most creative ways of telling their story. Whether it’s by sharing compelling images to social media or writing blogs to humanize their brand, many businesses are seeking fresh ways for effectively engaging with their desired target audience – through content marketing.

What skills do you need to be part of this?

If you have any of these skills, this is your chance to start collaborating and create a big impact for small and medium businesses, those can't afford to pay thousands to Public Relations and big Marketing Agencies.

The Networker

The networker feels most at home in a crowd of new people to talk to, energized by the exchange of ideas, anecdotes, and speculation. They take away from every conversation new information feeling appreciative for the opportunity to have learned it. They know the value of a professional network and work diligently to nurture their own. In other words, someone like the networker will bring opportunities for collaborations within my network.


Content development requires strong research proficiency to get the latest supporting information, complete with links.


For text-based content, writers must able to create articles, columns, blog posts, scripts and e-books.

Photographer and videographer

Whether it is to enhance text content or stand on its own, both photography and video are powerful for luring readers in and engaging them in real time. It’s important to integrate branding into these presentations and to add text so that they’re search-friendly.

The Speaker

The speaker is comfortable talking about what they know. They are clear and articulate verbal communicators who relish any opportunity to share the information they have with others. Whether or not they are comfortable using their verbal skill in front of crowds is inconsequential. The skill is in their verbal mastery.

The Designer

Content designers are responsible for the layout and look of the finished content. If you can think colors and layout, you are in the right place.

Social Media Specialist

The social media specialist is on top of all the latest trends in digital marketing. Strategy, planning, tactics and execution all come easily. Community management, understanding the power of content, being creative and optimizing content and technology are all qualities of the social media specialist.

The Visualizer

These are the people that show you a picture to get their point across. You know the visualizer when they not only show the picture, but you are blown away by how clear the message is the instant you see it. The visualizer looks at every single digital tool and figures out a way to use it to paint a clearer picture.

Creative Director

They bring ideas to the table, a strategic thinking mindset, problem-solving skills, a talent for managing people, projects, and resources. Creative directors are leaders who understand the latest creative trends and have great organizational skills.

Which of the roles do you see yourself as?

No matter which hat (or hats!) you wear, it's vital to have will-power, which enables you to build the skills you need, and commit to learning with each other.
