Emeryville-based Pixar is rolling out an Easter egg hunt, perfectly timed for the holiday -- asking fans to scour a clip of its biggest films for "Easter eggs" -- sneaky, insider references to jokes, props or other movies.

"Easter eggs" in movies aren't new: Slate notes such sly inserts date back to "101 Dalmatians—which features blink-and-you’ll miss them cameos from several Lady and the Tramp characters."

The attached video explains the concept. Happy hunting!
