Relationship Economy Conversations: REXPedition, Mondragon co-ops, and Coworking

Join Coworking Coaches Betsy Morris and Raines Cohen at the Hub Coworking space for social entrepreneurs at the David Brower Center in downtown Berkeley for an evening of presentations and conversation around:

  • Jerry Michalski, expeditionary leader from The RexPedition, sharing his maps of The Relationship Economy and showing how businesses need to and are changing to connect to customers in creative new ways.
  • Team Academy students/entrepreneurs from Mondragon University in Spain, looping us into their international journey of hands-on experiential  learning and sharing tools for building business cooperatively.
  • Highlights from last week's California Center for Cooperative Development (CCCD) annual conference, and the just-concluded WestCo conference put on by North American Students of Cooperation (NASCO) at the UC Berkeley Student Co-ops.

Plus we're looking forward to making this a two-way conversation and hearing from you. How is cooperation changing the way you work and live? We'll include some inspirational remarks from fellow Hub Berkeley member Yoni Landau of CoFed, the Cooperative Food Empowerment Directive,

Food and drinks sourced from local cooperative businesses will be available.

$20 at the door, or include ideas for creative alternatives on the private Q&A page after you RSVP: Speaking opportunities/business partnerships? Barter? Key introductions? Local currencies? Let's learn enough about each other to find what's mutually beneficial in building this new economy.

More about The REXpedition:

REX is the Relationship Economy eXpedition.

The next social and industrial order has more to do with abundance and trust than with scarcity and stickiness. The key assets are trusted relationships.

In such a world, whom you trust and who trusts you are primary assets. You’ll choose the product (or vote for the candidate) that people you trust recommend, from among the abundant choices.

Here we'll build key elements of the Relationship Economy, playing out what it means for business, culture, society, governance, education and more, because its effects will be widespread and durable.

This is the Relationship Economy, and we’ll be exploring it together.
