This annual event is always A LOT of fun! This year we are collaborating with the City of Colorado Springs, the Colorado Springs Downtown Partnership, Old Colorado City and the Manitou Creative District to celebrate the Creative Corridor that stretches along Colorado and Manitou avenues. This is also an opportunity to support our community by participating in a pilot program to have your photos considered for inclusion in PlanCOS and for them to be used by the Downtown Partnership and the city of Manitou Springs.
We will meet at the Manitou Art Center at 2 p.m. to discuss the rules and divide into teams. Free parking is available at the MAC and along Manitou Avenue near the MAC.
We will end up at Local Relic in the Carter Payne Chapel (320 S. Weber) at 5:30 p.m. for dinner and to compile the photos/determine the winning teams. I will add the dinner menu once it is available. Parking at Local Relic is free along Pueblo Avenue.
Please note that this event requires a considerable amount of walking and is not suitable for young children or those who have difficulty being on their feet for several hours. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Participants will be divided into teams of 5-6 and given a list of items to shoot. Each team will get 3 hours to gather as many items as they can from the list, and each item will be worth a certain amount of points. This will be a race against the clock, and the list will be designed so that no team will be able to get a photo of every item on it. Your team will have to determine a strategy that will make the best use of your time while collecting the most points possible. Each team will present its photos to the other teams after dinner.
We will award prizes from local businesses to all members of the teams with the most points, and the first 40 attendees will receive a goodie bag.

Your team's final score depends on your ability to capture as much content on the list and not your photography skills, so this is a great event for beginners.
Here are some of the rules:
Teams must stay together, they cannot split up in order to get more items on the list.
Teams returning after 5:30 p.m. will have points deducted based on how many minutes they are late.
Each photo can only be used for one item. If the photo contains multiple items, the team must choose to use it for only one.
Each team should have one laptop and one thumb drive to use for compiling/presenting their photos.
No editing is allowed unless it's to adjust brightness, contrast, etc.
