Digital Image Management - Making a molehill out of a Mountain

Updated for room assignment: Room 152

As photographers, we capture a large number of images.  Managing those images can become a complex and time-consuming chore that many do not want to face.  Unfortunately, when we ignore image management, images become difficult to find and information about each image gets lost.

This course will describe a workflow to handle image management in a quick and efficient manner, utilizing technology to assist with the tasks.  While many of the course concepts are tool-agnostic, it will use the Lightroom library module to illustrate concepts and concrete steps.

The course is build around a image capture workflow and includes:

• image naming

• image folder structure

• digital rights management (a brief overview)

• Lightroom presets

• import

• image edit (not image processing)

• keywording

• metadata

• Lightroom collections

• backups

• workflow modifications for travel
