A Serger is like a Microwave

Details
When asked if a serger was really necessary, Karen Weaver used to say, “It’s like a microwave oven. Do you really need one in your kitchen? Maybe not, but once you have one you’ll wonder how you lived without it!”
April is National Serger Month! Join us as we celebrate with a hands-on look at what a serger can really do … besides tidy up fraying seam allowances!
The easiest garment to assemble on a serger is a knit tee-shirt. I’ll come with one all cut out and demonstrate how simple it is to whip one up. Thalia from Sew Creative is on board to walk us thru serger basics (threading, tensions) as well as some ‘Wow’ features, such as efficient hemming, sturdy seams, and creative decorative stitches.
As always, we’ll start with Show and Tell. Bring your latest sewing projects, finished or in progress, and let’s share inspiration, advice, and a few well-earned compliments!
WHEN: Saturday, April 12 from 10AM to noon
WHERE: Sew Creative on Princeton Street in Wenatchee
Kindly RSVP if you plan to attend by responding (to me) so we know how many to accommodate for. Thanks!
