What we’re about
Welcome to my Meetup group!
If you have an interest in writing, acting, live performance, poetry, networking with other creative people and other assorted meetup events, you've joined the right group.
I have a passion for writing and live performance (improv, theatre, comedy) but I also love bringing people together.
Funded initially by a university business grant, Silver Script has hosted courses, workshops and events in both creative writing and performance.
As a qualified teacher and coach I draw on years of professional experience as a writer and performer.
Mostly Berlin and Leipzig based, we also run online events too and we've been joined by people from all over the world.
Contact me if you have any ideas or questions, or if you'd like to host or advertise any of your own events. And, of course, spread the word!

Duels and Duologues in the Basement
*** Limited spaces, please pay in advance to reserve a place ***
In the depths of our Berlin basement, souls soar.
Some of the most exciting, tension filled theatre emerges when two people do battle with each other, using the most deadly weapon of all: language. In this workshop we'll mostly be working in pairs to explore the ways we can create crackling chemistry on the stage. As part of the process we will workshop many of the tools at the actors disposal, including subtext, movement, tone, subtext, rhythm and silence.
BASMENT WORKSHOP SCHEDULE
(Book one or more. Requires advance payment to secure place)
Workshop: Duels and Dialogues - Thursday 5th October 7 - 9pm
Workshop: Voice Acting - 7th October 4 - 6pm (repeat)
Located in the sound-studio of an artist's atelier, the Basement Workshop Series offers fun but focused acting classes in one of the coolest, creative spaces in Kreuzberg.
In these playful, two-hour workshops, we will use games, exercises and text-based exploration to develop our skills as performers. Each workshop explores a different playwright, practitioner or skillset.
Participant numbers are limited to six, so each workshop will be intimate and focused. If there is enough interest, participants are invited to natter and network with other participants in the bar-style space upstairs (if the atelier is empty), or at one of the many other quirky bars / cafes in the area.
As a widely published writer, teacher and performer, Geoff draws on boundless humour and energy, as well as over twenty years of professional experience, to bring you an engaging workshop experience.
Places are strictly limited to 6 participants. Please pay in advance to reserve your place.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Who is this workshop for?
Anyone who has a specific interest in the topic being explored, and wishes to develop their skills or understanding as a performer. If you've never performed before, and you have the confidence to explore new territory, come along! You will also need a high level of English, especially if we're workshopping classical playwrights.
What's the refund policy?
Unfortunately no refunds, unless someone on the reserve list fills your place. It's a small group, so no-shows impact the workshop dynamic, and make it difficult if I've planned for a specific number of people. In rare cases it may be possible to transfer the credit to another workshop.
What if I'm late?
Please be on time. We'll wait a few minutes before locking the door and descending into the shadows. If you're stuck outside, you'll need to text / call on the number I provide when you book.
What should I bring? How can I prepare?
Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Bring a bottle (of water, not vodka).
Where is the workshop based?
It's in the basement sound studio of Atalier Auglein. This is a small, cosy, sound-insulated space. It's a bit rough around the edges, and is 'very Kreuzberg'. Don't expect luxury. The atalier (co-working space) looks like a bar / cafe, or even a plant shop from the outside. The nearest station - Schlesisches Tor - is 2 mins away.
Are you available for personal coaching and corporate training?
Oh, but of course. Just speak to me in person, or email me at editor_silverscript@gmail.com, or here in the Meetup group.

- Was macht wirkungsvolles Storytelling aus?
- Wie erwecke ich interessante Figuren zum Leben?
- Wo entstehen Konflikte und wie mache ich daraus Comedy?
- Was zeichnet gute Comedy-Dialoge aus?
