American life is jam-packed with Christianity. From snake handlers to mega church preachers; born again bikers to bible-thumping cage wrestlers; in breadlines, comedy concerts, strip clubs, and yoga studios—everyone's doing it for Christ. But how can one religion have such vastly different messengers? Seeking answers, Spanish filmmaker Aram Garriga embarks on a road trip to chronicle the remolding of Christianity to fit America's capitalistic and politically split persona. He explores Christian pop culture, End Times fanatics, and the rise of the political right within a religion once mostly concerned with helping the poor and downtrodden. The result—by turns bizarre, hilarious, and refreshingly intelligent—is a mosaic of true believers, each trying to craft a balance of faith, materialism, personal issues, and politics. Produced by indie film legend Larry Fessenden of Glass Eye Pix, this will surely be one of the most talked-about films of the 2014 FFF by both spiritual and secular audiences.
