Freedom Begins with Freethinkers - David Williamson at UUUS Orlando

The UU has invited David to be the featured speaker on Memorial Day weekend. He will discuss local efforts by the Central Florida Freethought Community (CFFC) and its members and will provide the motivation and the means to become an an advocate for state/church separation. Maybe some activists will be created as well!

The Society's services on Sunday are very much like educational meetings in other organizations. The event is secular and this UU society is made up of a great deal of local freethinkers, many of whom are members of the CFFC. We will feel right at home.

We know some non-believers have an aversion to church services so here's a helpful page that describes what you can expect on any given Sunday morning: http://www.universityuus.org/services.php

David did an excellent job of presenting the dire need for separation of church and state, as well representing atheists in a positive way. I was also impressed by service and congregation of the UUUS. I will likely spend some future Sunday mornings there.

Everyone is invited to an earlier discussion group at the UU called Inquiring Minds which starts at 9:15..It is similar to the recent Discussion Events in the FACTS Meetup. I will be briefly discuss the Central Florida Freethought Community and how it works to promote involvement in state/church separation including the projects we have undertaken. But this is a discussion group so come out and join the conversation if you like.
