CS-NYC: Update for Late September

From: Brian E. K.

Hope this finds everyone well and adjusting to the onset of Autumn.

The date of our next meetup has been set: October 21 at 7pm. If we are able to secure a venue with a/v capabilities, then we will go forward with the Case Study idea. If not, we will have a social hour (or two).

It turns out that many of our members were shy about stating their going freelance rate for our last poll. Out of 13 folks who responded, 9 of you are charging $91/hr and up.

Our new poll also has to do with the filthy lucre, in regards to paying to secure venues for future presentations. As you know, we've had some difficulty in getting venues for featured presenters, and one potential solution is to rent a co-working space. This would likely open up a lot more potential venues for the group, but it would require that you pay in order to attend. Before exploring this any further, we'd like to know how you feel about it. You can cast your vote here.

That's about it for now. Expect the next update within the next couple weeks.
