MAIN TOPIC ABSTRACT
Principles of Data Virtualization

One of the principle challenges of data management in the Internet of Things (IoT) era, is consolidation of data in many different formats that originates from many different sources. Data federation and virtualization allow enterprises to organize data from many differnt sources into business centric data models. Those models may be service enabled allowing line of business applications to use the data in an intelligently integrated enterprise. We will discuss the principles of Data Virtualization with emphasis on what it is, how it is implemented (at a high level), and introduce the JBoss Community Projects, Teiid Server, http://teiid.jboss.org/, and Teiid Designer, http://teiiddesigner.jboss.org/ .

BASIC CONCEPTS ABSTRACT
Fundamentals of the Teiid Server and Teiid Desginer

We will present more details of the Teiid Server and Teiid Designer. Specifically:

• Teiid Architecture

• SQL Support

• Connectors and Translators

• Virtual Databases, VDB's

• Metadata Models

• Design and Performance Considerations, Caching

• Eclipse Tooling

• User and Developer perspectives

• Service enabling data through REST and SOAP

• Running Teiid Server

• Deploying and Testing VDB's

• Q&A on Data Virtualization, JBoss, Red Hat, and anything else open source.
