I've also used Pythian before and strongly recommend them!

Good afternoon,

My office has been using an outsourced SRE team for several years and they're good, reliable and there hasn't been a lot of turnover on their side.  For an MSP, that's a good thing.

If you're interested in an introduction I can probably arrange someone for you to speak with.

Good question Jimmy.

We have 2 in-house SRE / DevOps (they're retitling to be SRE's though I used to call them DevOps Leads) that handle both IT and Hosting.

There's a short-list we have of companies we've vetted. It's nerve-wracking, imo, however, FairWinds looked promising. We haven't worked with them but DevOps-as-a-Service (or SREaAS) is a growing field because of the complexity.

If it's a specific stack, I can introduce you to the regional lead for that hosting platform (e.g. APN's regional lead, etc.)

DevOps/SRE for smallish (<20) companies in 2019: FTE or managed services?
Hello -

I've contacted a few of you on this list about a need for some help in the area of SRE / DevOps - but I wanted to hear from those from smallish companies:

Do you have people on staff handling operations full-time, or do you contract a 3rd party with more as-needed type help? Why did you choose what you did?

I'm at a bit of a crossroads, and I'm not quite sure which direction to go.

If you'd rather reply off-list, I'm at [address removed]

To be clear: I am not looking for sales cold calls, recruiters, etc.

Thanks -
