- What we'll do
Kicking off at 6 pm with registrations, welcomes, beers + wines.
We'll aim to do a brief intro to the event and an overview of our Mission Statement + Purpose (we promise to keep the boring stuff short!)
Our aim is to mix some short interactive sessions with some Q&A's, some brilliant speakers and other bits and pieces to hopefully deliver some real value to people attending.
- Speaking at our first event, we have:
Harry McLaren // Managing Consultant at ECS
While working for the last five years for ECS Security (based in Edinburgh), Harry has risen as a technical leader in his field of cybersecurity to specialise in using big data to help organisations manage evolving threats, uncover bad actors and build platforms for capability development. Alongside his technical role, he’s also responsible for growing ECS’s Data Analytics practice based around Splunk and is responsible for growing his team of talented Security Engineers.
Robert Williamson // Security Consultant at ECS
Graduating from Edinburgh Napier University in 2013, Robert chose to move away from his degrees speciality of networking, to focus on cybersecurity starting as a SOC Analyst with ECS. Now with five years experience in the field, he's working as a Security Consultant with a focus on delivering security orchestration platforms and has a broad understanding of Splunk (Big Data & SIEM). Robert is certified to Splunk Consultant level (including Architect) and recently achieved his C|EH.
Stefanie Corlay // Recruitment Consultant at Stanton House
Stefanie holds a Master in Languages, literature and foreign civilisations from La Sorbonne in Paris, studied conference interpreting and moved into recruitment to combine her passion for people and technology.
In her role at Stanton House, Stefanie specialises in mid-to-senior level Change Transformation and Business IT recruitment, predominantly within Security & Risk. She specialises in Financial Services and the FinTech world and works with some of the best-known employers within Edinburgh and across Scotland including challenger banks, retail and investment banks, asset management and Technology companies.
As a networker that is always keen to learn more about her market and talk with people about their career journeys, Stefanie regularly attends networking events organised by Meetup and ISACA, you may have already met!
We've kept the topics relatively high-level for our first event, but we're keen to get your direction/ideas/topics for future ones too!
