• 2: North Pinellas Ramble
    Cycling: We'll explore the northern extension of the Pinellas Trail to Brooker Creek, then head back west to Fred Howard Park, for about 30 miles total. This will mostly be a casual ride, with speeds of 14-16mph, and about 16-18mph on straightaways when possible. Extra Adventure: We'll have a bite to eat at the Tarpon Tavern after the ride. Bring a bike lock if you cannot secure your bicycle inside your car.     About the Ride: This is a beautiful ride across Tampa Bay on the bike bridge along the Courtney Campbell Causeway (Hwy60). This is a mostly flat ride on a paved bike trail, with a nice challenging bridge to get across Tampa Bay. *Each week we start either at Ben T Davis Beach, or at the Safety Harbor Marina, depending on the wind direction (we try to do the challenging direction first). We ride to and across the Courtney Campbell Causeway bridge, and return. *Please check a couple of days in advance for the current week's starting point There are different side adventures we can take as well, including Philippe Park, the Ream Wilson Trail, Cypress Point Park, or bridge repeats (sounds like fun, huh?). About the Ride: Wind down your weekend with a ride through South Tampa, from the bike shop to Picnic Island, down Bayshore, and around Davis Island.   • 3: Weedon Island to St. Petersburg
    About the Ride: We'll be joining the Sunday Bicyclers for a ride. The ride begins at the Weedon Island Cultural and Natural History Center at the end of Pinellas County's Weedon Island Park. We'll wend our way to downtown St. Petersburg via the waterfront homes of Shore Acres, the mansions of Snell Isle, and the bungalows of Old Northeast and Coffee Pot Bayou. After cycling along the city's waterfront we'll circle the Dali Museum and the Mahaffey Theater complex as we ride into downtown St. Pete. We'll return to Weedon Island via 1st Street N. Restrooms and water are available at the kayak launch near the starting location if the museum is closed. Posted as 26 miles, at about 13-15mph. Extra Adventure: We'll go for breakfast, either during or after the ride.     This ride runs on the last Friday of EVERY month. Critical Mass is a large group ride to have FUN, meet new people, and to promote urban bicycle safety, skills, & confidence. They welcome anything human powered: skates, boards, and yes, even bikes! They move at a fairly casual pace of 10mph. The ride is about 10 miles. The rides are at night, so we HIGHLY recommend lights (LOTS of lights!) (Law REQUIRES lights at night, but that'll be between you and the popos. Ride respectfully & responsibly, and of course, you ride at your OWN risk. They have ONE, and ONLY one rule: NO GAPS. If there's room in front of you for a car to sneak inside the MASS, YOU are a MAJOR safety hazard, and need to... well, PEDAL FASTER, or consider dropping out of the ride. If you're behind this guy, pass him! Meet other Critical Mass participants who are enthusiastic about the mass-cycle event that shows that cycling in Tampa can be FUN, safe and better than polluting with cars! Promote bicycle awareness & safety. Get Involved in alternative transportation.     This ride is lead monthly by Oliver's Cycle Sports. Others will be on the ride, not just those who RSVP through our group. About the Ride: A fun, social group ride! We'll leave from Oliver's and ride at Flatwoods and/or around Tampa Palms neighborhood for about 20-30 miles. The pace is about 16mph, or more if all riders are capable. You must be comfortable riding on neighborhood roads in a group. We may ride fewer miles if there are extenuating circumstances, like bad weather. Extra Adventure: At the end of the ride we'll ride to brunch at Ciccio Cali, so bring some money if you would like to participate.
