Dear Scala Ethusiasts,
Time for coding session. This time we change format and maybe even the venue.
One of the beauty of Scala is how it blends object oriented with functional programming. Many of us are familiar with OO programming for many years. But what are the core traits of functional programming and how can it benefit our day to day work?
There is great book "Functional Programming in Scala". It covers the core concepts of functional programming, with Scala being just a vehicle.
Let's form a study group around the book and
• Code exercises from the book, chapter by chapter or by interest,
• Discuss and share experience from real life projects,
• Have fun.
There are two options for a venue:
• Traditionally in meeting room in Faculty of Information Technology with sponsored pizza
• Cafeteria in Prague center with informal atmosphere and coffee :)
Please share your preference in comments section.
Looking forward to another cool coding session,
