Dear Scala enthusiasts,
let us wish you the best in the New Year and share with you our plans for it.
We continue to organize lectures and coding dojos at FIT, now on a more regular schedule:

  • Coding Dojo on the last Tuesday of every odd month
  • Lecture/Presentation on the last Tuesday of every even month

Except during holidays. We have moved regular start to 18:30 on FIT's request.
Code & Coffee and August Hackaton
We also plan to experiment with a new format popular in London, Code & Coffee, a morning coding in a coffee shop, just before you get to work or school. We start probably as soon as there would be daylight in the morning.
In August we plan to organize a weekend off-Prague hackaton.
Please share your thought on these by replying to this email.
Call for speakers
The content of our events is solely community driven. Anyone of you is welcome to come with an interesting topic and give a presentation. Since there is very little companies in this country using Scala commercially, there is little opportunities to present a from-the-trenches experience. But you may have tried some interesting library, framework or started/participated on some interesting project you would like to share.
Please consider contributing. The presentations will be recorded and posted on YouTube, so you'll target a wider audience and you may also use it freely in the future as a reference.
You may choose one of two formats:

  • 60-90min full-length presentation
  • 15-30min short talk

Should you decide to present at any time, please let know with a topic, short annotation and a preferred date and format.
See you soon,
Your arganizers
