For 10 years now, The Highway Community has hosted the Highway WienerNationals. It started out as a crazy little race with 8 or 9 dogs and grown to a crazy fun race with 60 to 70 Dachshunds running. This year is our 10th running of The Highway WienerNationals. Last year the Southern California Dachshund Rescue (SCDR) set up a booth and adopted out 5 Dachshunds. Lindy, the Northern California representative, said (and I quote): "Last year we did FIVE adoptions as a result of the races. This far exceeds any other type of venue we go to." We love that, and SCDR will be back this year. We also have a pet portrait artist who will be at the race, and a free portrait of a participant in the race will once again be one of the prizes. And speaking of prizes, we have some very cool stuff in store this year, Dachshund stuff you've probably never seen before. 

Once again, we'll have be BBQing sausages and providing lunch, all part of the celebration. The best part of all this is that it's FREE. We just want you to come and enjoy part of your day with us.

Now here's your part: register your Dachshund for the race and share this email with your Dachshund-loving friends. We'd love for this year, our 10th, to be biggest celebration ever!
