Dear Liz and Family,

We have you in our thoughts this week given this sad news about Molly. Having just seen her a few weeks back at the reservoir (we sang for her 18th birthday!) this comes as quite a shock.

Our hearts and love are with you.  We are so grateful for our loving little wiener friends and the joy they bring to our lives.

Lori, Scott and Tator Tot.

Thank you, Macy, for sending this poignant reminder that we will see our pets once more. It will so good to see my kitties and puppies who have gone before me when the time comes. On this Thanksgiving Day let us all be thankful for the time we have had with our little ones both living and departed.

The Rainbows Bridge Poem
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

photo taken yesterday on our walk
Hello All,
We found out on Sunday night Molly has a large tumor in her liver along with other small ones. We noticed her belly getting large and didn't know why and was having a hard time breathing. They took xrays, bloodwork and u/s. I was hoping it was her heart which couldve been eaiser to deal with and give her more time with us but they gave me the worst news. The Doctor said she could live a few weeks or a few days it is hard to say. I am devastated and sad. I couldn't stop crying on Monday but I am better today and enjoying every minute we have with her. I don't want her to see me crying because she senses when I am sad.  I have been cooking her favorite chicken soup, and today I made her hamburger patties. She is eating well and is sleeping alot. I know when it is time she will let us know and stop eating and give us a sign when it is time to take her in. For now she is one happy weiner dog enjoying all the goodies I am giving her and spoiling her as usual.
I give thanks to all the wonderful years she brought us and all the joy she has given us.
Please hold your dachshunds close and give them lots of hugs and kisses. They are all so precious!!
