    First let me say I have never done this ride. And I do not know all about it yet. What I do know is below. And if you have any questions let me know and I will get you an answer. 2017 will be the 45th year of this internationally known and respected event. I would like to be there.
    My plan is to get a team together of Pedals and Pints group Members to attend and ride this event. The average distance is 67 miles a day. We would be camping along the way.
    The registration is done on a lottery basis.
    The fee is $175.00 per rider. And must be paid up front. Then we submit our team application and the registration fee for each rider all together. When registration closes they will do a draw. If we do not get picked, they will refund all money back to us. And if we do get drawn then I will receive every riders packet and will distribute accordingly.
    Registration opens November 15th. And closes on April 1st. Therefore if you want to be part of the team and ride in this event. Please have your entry money to me no later than March 1st. I figure for those wanting and able to go that is more than enough time.
    I am taking my truck and camper with us. Sorry there is not enough room for everyone to sleep in the camper. You will need to have your own camping gear. Camping will be at included at the end of each day. From what I understand there will be no electricity or water. I will have a generator for the camper you can charge phones and what not from that. There will be shower facilities provided each day.
    I will haul all bikes of each rider going to the starting town. And I will bring them back to Texas after the event. For those planning on driving themselves you can haul your own bikes and gear. For those wanting to fly to the starting town and fly home we will try. Can not promise for transportation to and from any airport.
    I am looking for a volunteer to be the teams support driver. Meaning you will drive my truck to each days campsite pulling the camper and hauling the teams gear. Once there you will set up camp and get the beer on ice. As the support driver you will sleep in the camper and enjoy the air conditioning Lol
    The team support driver will not have to pay any fees.
    If anyone is interested in this event please message me and RSVP for the event. This event will be limited to 10 cyclist and 1 support driver support driver is welcome to bring along a spouse or friend.
    This event is not for children. No children
    If you RSVP please be prepared to pay your registration fee. I want to know who is serious about attending.

      For a head light on the front of the bike. I honestly recommend one of Amazon. It's called bright eyes. It's rechargeable and very bright. Has a bright mode. A dimmer mode and a flash mode. But if you do go to Richardson bike Mart. Tell them your with the bike group and you should get another 10 % off

    Rode RAGBRAI 3 years ago. Suggest selecting a charter service such as Pork Belly Ventures (that's who we used). They will haul your gear from town to town, camping area already organized; hot showers, coffee, beer, entertainment; hot showers, transport to starting line and return from finish (to and from Des Moines). Need I say more??? Great people.
