Using Location-Based Services to Improve Your Social Media Marketing

We are pleased to have Danielle Glick of DGdesign.biz as our featured speaker on Tuesday, October 12th. Danielle will be presenting valuable information regarding mobile location-based services and social media tools. Topics will include social coupons, local-based web sites such as Foursquare, and other emerging social media channels.

Danielle has 15 years of experience in interface design with some experience in photography, videography, and copywriting. While working for a Dallas advertising agency as a User Experience Designer, Danielle became a member of the team that was asked to create the very first social media marketing efforts for a few nationwide brands in the baked goods industry. However, no one in the company was a social media expert, so Danielle took a hands-on approach– she invented her own brand!

Now, Danielle has her own small business, DGdesign, which specializes in helping other small business owners in Dallas maximize their marketing budget through social media. Take a look at Danielle’s research and strategy-based approach to social media marketing at DGdesign.biz.

Danielle recently spoke at the DFW Social Media Marketing Meetup run by Stephanie Inge and Sandy Norton and received very high marks for her presentation. We are glad she is available to come speak to our group and offer her opinions and reviews of today's hottest social media location based tools and websites. You can follow Danielle on Twitter @SocialMediaDFW.

Danielle says that this presentation will be more effective if you are able to follow along on your own mobile device. Please feel free to download these apps to your smart phone or iPad before the presentation; but don't worry if you can't, you will still learn lots!

Very nice presentation and, as always, you meet great people. If you want to know more about SEO/SEM and meet other like minded people I would highly recommend joining.

Video: You can watch a previous recording of Danielle's presentation here, http://qwkurl.com/rz5 It doesn't have the great Facebook Places for business updates she mentioned last night, but the information she shares is excellent none the less.

Thanks Danielle for giving such a much needed talk. Be sure to visit her website and scan her QR code to get her contact details, http://dgdesign.biz/

Thanks Edgar. I will cover the good and bad I have learned from speaking with local small business owners about social coupons such as Groupon.

Saw Tony Emerson's comment about the "Groupon backlash", did a search, and came across this article: http://techcrunch.com/2010/09/17/why-groupon-needs-a-backlash/
