This month, 10gen Software Engineer Craig Wilson will be talking about MongoDB.

MongoDB is a robust, simple, and free alternative to mainstream data stores. Craig will lead a discussion of schema design in MongoDB and how it differs from traditional approaches allowing freedom and flexibility for the developer.

We'll be meeting in our usual spot, the SoftLayer offices there on Alpha just off the Tollway. We  hope you'll join us next week for this month's talk!

It was a very nice overview of MongoDB. I feel that I have a better understanding of when it would make sense to consider using MongoDB.

In some ways wish there was a little more information/knowledge about the integration with PHP but as an introductory meeting understood how MongoDB differs from traditional RDBMS.

yeah, mongo is one of those things that before you really start using the PHP you really need to know what it is going to do for you. the presentation was great for that.
