Join Front Runners New York in their AMAZINGLY WELL-ORGANIZED run over the last 20 miles of the NYC Marathon course.

Please note that due to overwhelming responses, as of October 9 FRNY is not able to accept new registrations for this event.

Notes from the Frontrunner's team on the event. Please review:

WHERE: We will be meeting at the picnic area adjacent to the Prospect Park Bandshell. See map for directions:
The closest subway is 15th St - Prospect Park on the F/G train. It's also accessible from Grand Army Plaza with a 15-20 minute walk. We all know weekend MTA service is horrible, so please check your train is running in the days before the run.

WHEN: The run will be on Sunday, October 16th.
There will be a course briefing at 7:45 AM to go over any last-minute logistical changes and course details. Please arrive with enough time to use the bathroom, change into your run clothes, and go through your pre-run routines.

As in previous years, the BLR will be using a wave start so that everyone can finish at Tavern on the Green in a tight, efficient 60-minute window. This means slower runners will head off first, and the speed demons will hunt them down as follows:

7:30 AM : Early Start (13:00+ pace) --if you plan on doing the early start, email [masked]
8:00 AM : 10:00 - 12:59 pace
8:15 AM : 9:00 - 9:59 min. pace
8:30 AM : 8:00 - 8:59 pace
8:40 AM : Under 8:00 pace

FRNY will be providing vehicles at the start of the run that will transport bags to the finish line. As we will only have three cars for 200 runners, please keep your bags small. We've never lost a bag, but I wouldn't suggest putting anything too valuable into your bag.
Please make sure to tag and mark your bag with your name, club affiliation, and phone number. Do this before arriving at the park because we can’t be bothered with pen requests the morning of the run.

MAPS / COURSEThere will be NO printed maps for any runners. If you are not familiar with the route, it is your responsibility to study the course. This is the route we'll be using this year.

MapMyRun has an iOS and Android app that you can use with your phone's GPS to keep you on track. Please download this if you think you might get lost and just want a little peace of mind.

AID STATIONS There will be 5 aid stations with water, Gatorade, GUs, and other energy gels along the course. The exact locations of some of the aid stations are still being determined and will be communicated the morning of the run

FINISH LINE The run will finish near Tavern on the Green in Central Park. There will be fresh bagels, cream cheese, peanut butter, Gatorade, water, and other tasty treats waiting for you.

--Be mindful. In Prospect Park at the start of the run, try and keep things civil and quiet. We don't want to irritate any neighbors on a Sunday morning. Similarly on the run, try to avoid running three and four abreast on sidewalks and in bike lanes. Share the road with others.
--At the start of the run, it's not clear whether the public restrooms near the Bandshell will be open or not. Some years they're open, some years they're not.

If you have any thoughtful questions, please just reply to me at [masked] and we’ll do our best to answer them.
