Mapping What Matters: Data Inventory for Cybersecurity and Privacy Management

Details

This event is jointly organized by the SPiRIT community and APARAVI.
Creating comprehensive inventories of data and assets is essential for integrating cybersecurity, privacy, and data management. Yet in practice, this critical task is often overlooked, reduced to ad-hoc spreadsheets, or siloed in disconnected processes. In this session, we aim to make data and asset inventorization more approachable, actionable, and valuable.
Together, we will:

  • explore the requirements of leading regulations and standards addressing asset inventorization;
  • discuss the common practical challenges organizations face (e.g., scope definition, dynamic environments, and stakeholder alignment);
  • present practical tools and strategies that support both engineering and operations teams in their inventory efforts;
  • cover how data and asset inventories play a foundational role in ensuring the trustworthiness, security, and privacy of Al-enabled systems - and how Al can in turn assist with inventory automation;
  • showcase how data management platforms like Aparavi ADS can be leveraged to build inventories that serve multiple purposes - from compliance and audit readiness to securing Al systems.

Whether you're starting your inventorization journey or refining an existing process, this event will provide insights and examples you can apply directly.
