What kind of events or outings would you like to see scheduled?

Outdoors events; hikes, bike rides, campfire events, star-gazing, etc. Also museum and art gallery events, public talks and other events about science, history, philosophy, literature, art, and so on.

Tell the group something about yourself...

I've been a psychology professor the past several years, and am currently separated, with two children who live with my ex-wife. I'm transitioning to a writing related field such as technical writing, editing, copy / content writing, etc. My bicycle is my primary mode of transportation, and I use it for everything. I volunteer regularly with the East Bay Bicycle Coalition for their events, and also help out with their office work once a week. I worked as a bicycle mechanic in college, and can fix just about anything that goes wrong or needs repairing on a bicycle. I'm into a healthy life style; I eat healthy, exercise daily in one way or another, meditate at least once a day, and try to live as eco-friendly and sustainably as possible. I'm into Buddhism and practicing gratitude, compassion, and loving-kindness in my daily life. I enjoy doing nice things for the people in my life because it is its own reward. Kindness begets kindness, love begets love.

I'm interested in making friends and expanding my social circle. I'm into cycling, hiking, backpacking, museums, books, philosophy, and psychology. Spiritual but not religious; learning about Buddhism and meditation.
