Upcoming Startup Weekend for Baltimore/Washington on June 15th-17th + Discount Code

Hey Java-ers!

I wanted to give you guys a heads up on a great upcoming opportunity to hack on something influential and potentially launch a new business. Startup Weekend is piloting its second ever e-GOV / Civic Engagement themed weekend at Microsoft Friendship Heights on June 15th-17th (gorgeous meeting center, all night access so we can camp out and hack, kinect room when you need to punch out frustration). We're bringing in some amazing mentors, judges and speakers, and are working with agencies at the local and federal level to source valuable ideas and key problem areas to inspire high-impact products. One winning team will earn a spot in the finalist round of Code For America's Civic Accelerator -- where teams will work with folks like Ron Conway, DJ Patil, and Jeff Clavier.

We're a nonprofit, so tickets go entirely towards meals, drinks, and resources for the weekend. We made a discount code of $10 off for the First 5 to register ("BWJAVA").

For those unfamiliar, Startup Weekend is a Seattle-based organization that facilitates events in 90+ countries where designers, developers, hustlers, and subject matter experts come together to ideate, build, and launch products and startups. These weekends are all about rapid prototyping, market and customer validation, and digging deeper into your tech community while hacking on something inspiring. Hope to see some of you there!
