This workshop will walk you through the process of moving an existing application into a containerized CI/CD pipeline and deploying it to a Kubernetes cluster in the Oracle Public Cloud.
During this hands-on lab, you will assume the personas of Chip, the lead DevOps engineer at Alpha Office, and Derek, the lead developer, as they embark on a new project to move an existing on-premises microservice application into the Cloud. Inside your trial account, you will start from scratch and learn how to:
• Containerize microservices with Wercker
• Create and deploy containers to a Kubernetes cluster, leveraging Terraform
• Automate complex continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines
• Implement blue/green deployments with Kubernetes
• Leverage Fn for serverless development and develop your first serverless function

Derek Oneill - a Solution Engineer on Oracle’s Developer Innovation team. During his 9 years with Oracle, Derek has created workshops and programs specifically for software developers — to help them improve their skills and better incorporate emerging technologies into their professional and personal projects.
Michael Perez- a Solution Engineer in App Dev team at Oracle, Reston. He transitioned into Software Engineering from Communications & Business. Since joining the Oracle Application Development team he has had the opportunity to work with OKE, Digital Assistant, Blockchain and Content Experience. His background in business has helped him connect with customers and give perspective on issues that can be solved.
Sai Hemachandra- a Solution Engineer for the Application Development pillar at Oracle. At Oracle, he is working on engagements that required a full DevOps flow with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools such as Wercker. Prior to Oracle, he worked as a full stack developer for four years and had experience containerizing applications and databases. He also has experience with AWS tools such as Lambda, and CodePipeline.
Sarju Mulmi- a Solutions Engineer at Oracle with the App Dev Team. At Oracle, he has been working on different engagements requiring various skill sets and technologies like Digital Assistant, Mobile & Web Development, Blockchain, Content & Experience Cloud, Visual Builder Cloud, Wercker, OKE etc.
