Entry Level Java Developer
Guident is seeking highly motivated entry level Java Application Developers with development and system development life cycle knowledge/experience to contribute toward the success of our client’s technology initiatives. As an entry level Java Application Developers supporting the Systems Engineering Division; the developer will be part of a team responsible for identifying customer requirements, identifying design elements, and providing software solutions. Successful applicants will have familiarity with Java 5 or greater and Java IDEs, SQL, HTML / DHTML, as well as developing with a Relational Database Management System. Familiar with GWT, jQuery, Spring MVC is preferred. The applicant will utilize Analysis, Design, Modeling, Java, J2EE, and SQL skills to translate high level requests, use cases, and wireframes into detailed designs and Java-based applications. The candidate must have technical aptitude, including the ability to understand detailed technical information and a passion to learn new technologies.
We are looking for someone with solid technical knowledge of application design and strong analytical skills and understanding of SDLC processes. Candidate will be responsible for utilizing best practices in analysis, design, implementation, and unit testing to ensure a scalable, high-quality system. The selected candidate will assist in the planning, design, and implementation of the customer requirements for engineering support software development efforts, as well as maintenance of legacy systems.
This is an excellent opportunity for recent college graduates who majored in software development, computer science, computer engineering or similar engineering discipline and who have held internships and have some work related experience in a Java developer role.
As part of our hiring process, we extensively train our new employees for 30 days in the latest technologies, like Java/J2EE and Oracle ADF.
-Bachelor's degree (software development, computer science, computer engineering or similar engineering discipline)
-At least 1 year experience with developing and implementing applications.
• 1 year of Java (J2EE preferred) application development in a web environment
• Database Access and SQL Skills
• UNIX - Linux and AIX (Operator Level)
• J2EE Design Patterns
• UML Modelling
• Financial Domain knowledge and experience
• JSP custom tags
• Struts and Tiles experience
• AJAX experience
• Rational Application Developer / Eclipse
• Unit Test Creation, Execution, and Automation
Basic understanding in:
-Application development tools
-IT standards, procedures, policy
-Modeling: data, process, events, objects
-System development life cycle
-Familiarity with Agile Development concepts
-Familiarity with Oracle 10g or greater
-Familiarity/Experience with web Services, XML, Struts is preferred.
-Ability to write quality, commented code
-Excellent oral and written communication skills.
