- CANCELED: DUPONT CIRCLE Saturday Morning (DC)
In the interest of helping to keep everyone safe during the coronavirus outbreak, the Saturday Dupont run will be canceled until further notice. All pace groups, distances, and experience levels welcome! With so many different paths stretching out of Dupont Circle, we'll explore the rich running terrain around us here in DC. Check the meetup page for a new course each week! Where: The Dupont Circle Fountain When: 9:00 a.m. (be there a few minutes early if you can for intros and to get a copy of the route. We leave by 9:05!) Extra distance is always welcomed - be sure to post your desired distance in the RSVP! What to bring: yourself, water and enthusiasm to try new routes and meet new friends! - VIENNA Evening (Va)
Event: Monday Evening Fun Run ***THE RUN HAS BEEN TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED DUE COVID-19 AND RESTRICTIONS ON LARGE GATHERINGS. WE WILL CONTINUE TO ASSESS THE SITUATION AND UPDATE THE SITE WITH CHANGES. STAY SAFE!!!*** Location: Caboose Brewing Tavern, 520 Mill Street, NE Vienna, VA (right off the W and OD towpath) Course Map: https://www.plotaroute.com/route/317621 Time: Run begins shortly after 6:30 pm - try to get there a bit earlier to sign in. Course: Runners will run on the W and OD towpath Distance: General distance will be between 3 to 5 miles, options to run less or more based on who is in attendance. Pace: Open to all paces. The more people who come, the more chance there will be someone who will be running at a similar pace as you. EVENT: Wednesday Evening Trail Run in partnership with Virginia Happy Trails Running Club (VHTRC) TIME: Depart shortly after 6 PM COURSE: Trail runs leaving from Difficult Run Parking Lot. Located right off Georgetown Pike between Old Dominion Drive and Towlston Road Use address: 8801 Georgetown Pike - Mclean, Va 22102 Some flat, some hilly - we will all decide the course in the parking lot. DISTANCE: Complete a distance that is good for you - everyone doesn't run the same distance, so we will determine together who is doing what distance and make sure you know the course. Distances typically vary from 3 miles up to 10 miles pending time of season and who is running that evening. PACE: Open to all paces - again not everyone runs at the same pace, so we will try to split up into groups the best we can. WHAT TO BRING: Bring hydration if you need, trail running shoes are a plus, comfortable running gear. HEADLAMPS are strongly encouraged in late Fall, Winter, and Early Spring Months! DISCLAIMER: This run is open to all runners, however you should have some experience with trail running. There may be times where you may be running by yourself and we can't always guarantee you will have a runner near you running with you. Event: Wednesday Evening Fun Run ***THE RUN HAS BEEN TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED DUE COVID-19 AND RESTRICTIONS ON LARGE GATHERINGS. WE WILL CONTINUE TO ASSESS THE SITUATION AND UPDATE THE SITE WITH CHANGES. STAY SAFE!!!*** Time: Runners meet between 6:15 and 6:30 pm, a few announcements and then run will leave shortly after 6:30 pm. Course: We run in the city on sidewalks, and routes often include hills. We change routes frequently but tend toward loops through the U St corridor, Columbia Heights and other nearby neighborhoods. The group is invited to stay for post-run food and drinks after ($5 Sam Adams) Pace: Open to all paces. Run group leaders will do their best to split runners up into pace groups. Henry Street), Alexandria, Va Distance: 4-6 miles in Old Town to Potomac Yard Line or Mount Vernon Trail. The distance is determined based on group interest at start of run. Runners of all skills and paces are welcome! Wear reflective clothing and bring a headlamp or flashlight if necessary!
