Read About Local Souls

For July, we will enter new territory for our book club, short stories.  Local Souls by North Carolina author Allan Gurganus, is actually three longer stories, or "novellas".  Gurganus writes about residents of his fictional town of Falls, N.C., the setting of his Oldest Living Confederate Widow Tells All

I think I'm going to have to work late tonight and probably won't be able to make it. The second novella was fairly interesting. Otherwise, I must say I didn't really enjoy these novellas too much, although I ran out of time to finish the third one.

I read the first story and found it OK. I thought it was interesting to see when we learned her name, but I'm not quite sure what the intended significance is. I haven't had time to get to the other two stories. What's up next?
