Worum es bei uns geht

Any decision we make in product management is based on something. That might be Business Intelligence data, usage, tests and experiments, focus groups – as well as gut feeling, company tradition, HIPPOs etc. And sometimes it is hard to tell one from the other. We can express any opinion in figures and shiny power point pie-charts to make them look reasonable, independent and not biased at all. That’s the easy part. We might do that to reach some goal, or because we don’t know better.
What I want to learn is,
- how to work with data to find objective evidence of what a customer really wants (to improve my product accordingly)
- how to ask the right questions
- keep my data clean
- interpret results in a professional way without using heuristics or jumping to conclusions
- new experiment- and test-setups and how to use them
how to make this „data-drivenness“-part of our company culture…
Sounds familiar? Great! Let’s meet and share our experiences, thoughts, ups and downs on the road to data driven product management. Anyone is welcome, agile product people as well as traditional ones. Data scientists are most welcome too – I hope they will find our issues interesting even though we are on the hands-on-level, without digging too deep into the numbers itself.
Our kickoff event will probably take place in august, featuring a talk by the testing experts of Kameleoon Deutschland. Talks can be held in English or German, and I’m still looking for speakers.
