Talk one: Leading UX Design

Working in a design team is not always easy. For a product to succeed it needs all: Balance, Direction and Speed of execution. In startups, a UX designer has more freedom and flexibility. But speed without communication can create imbalance or misdirection. Corporations, on the other hand, have solid structures and processes ensuring Balance and Direction, but they lack Speed.

Today, "Leading" means creating the right environment for people to give their best and work better together. Therefore communication, trust and empathy towards colleagues is fundamental.

Speaker: Marin Metohu

In the last ten years have worked for a variety of projects and companies from startups, corporations, governmental institutions, NGO's, both as a freelance consultant and full-time employee. Always advocating for UX design processes and methodologies while helping teams work better together. The latest important project as Lead UX Designer for Credit Suisse.

Talk title: Scale fast with iterative design processes

Collabary is an emerging business in a young and super fast-evolving industry - influencer marketing. For establishing a business in the market you need to be fast and to know your users, but the challenge is: How to keep the look and feel of the product consistent in an agile environment without losing track? An iterative and systemic design process can help to get user feedback as early as possible and develop further upon the feedback.

Speaker: Hanna Sandar

With over 10 years product design experience, she is working since 3 years as designer at Collabary by Zalando. She started her career in the fields of industrial and exhibition design, with running a design studio, where she designed experiences and products for clients like the Senat of Berlin, the University of Arts, Berlin and more. Her passion is exploring user’s behaviour and their needs, balancing out technical feasibility and visionary creativity for building useful and meaningful products.

🎤Open Mic Session

We open the floor to you, the Berlin UI UX design community. If you’re looking for feedback, partnership or advice on a project you’re working on or simply have a question, this is the opportunity to ask the group & further the discussion at the social. Open to all.
