On the first Sunday of every month we catch up with our sister meetup group - "Hike to Heal" for a walk in nature. ABOUT THIS MONTH'S HIKE This month we will be walking along the beach path from Brighton to the MO Moran Reserve in Elwood to see some sky diving (hopefully) and back via the iconic brighton beach bathing boxes for photos. We will meet outside the Royal Brighton Yacht Club on the beach path next to the water (not Beach Road end). Our return walk to the Moran Reserve is approximately 8.6 kms and is expected to take approximately 2.5 hours. Walkers can then retire to the Royal Brighton Yacht Club for a coffee on the veranda overlooking the beach. The coffee club is open to the general public. Walkers still with some energy can walk an additional 1.1 kms to the Brighton Beach bathing boxes for photos (return trip to Royal Brighton Yacht Club 2.2 kms or approximately 30 minutes walking). We will all meet afterwards for a well deserved rest at the Royal Brighton Yacht Club coffee shop and enjoy the stunning surroundings . LIABILITY WAIVER Please view the liability waiver before you RSVP. On the recommendation of some of our Western members we are venturing to Yarraville to enjoy the best it offers. From 6pm to 8pm we have a table for 10 booked at Cafe Terroni in Yarraville. Cafe Terroni is rated the number 1 restaurant in Yarraville on Trip Advisor and the best italian restaurant according to Restaurant Guru. Its pasta's are approximately $20. After we will cross the road to the Vault at 18 Ballarat Road which has a beer garden and live music playing on the weekends. Cafe Terroni does not take large bookings on the weekends so we have had to limit dinner to 10 people. If anyone misses or cannot make dinner it will still be great to see you at the Vault after. Look forward to catching up.
Never been to one of our meet-ups before? Been a member for a while or just joined? Either way this is the social for you! Once a month we hold a special meet-up to welcome in new members. Regulars are encouraged to attend and help new members have a fun night out! Our monthly “newbie” social is an opportunity to learn about our groups, events held and resources to help members. More importantly it is an opportunity to meet others going through separation & divorce in a safe and friendly environment. It helps to talk about our experiences and life changes with people who are interested and can relate. We can all learn from each other but the primary aim of the socials is to enjoy ourselves! Our socials are hosted by members of the Divorce Support & Social Group and the Melbourne Divorce Support Group. Wednesday night at the RMH is $15 pizza or pasta night with a drink! We pay for own food and drinks individually. Please RSVP if you are attending to ensure we book sufficient seats. When you arrive at the venue ask for the table booked under the name “Meetup”. Also note that times and venues are subject to change so please check beforehand. Any questions please phone Paul Davies on ph[masked]. We hope to see you!
Helping your journey be better not bitter - Joint event of the Divorce Support & Social Group & Melbourne Divorce Support Group. This month’s seminar is focused on divorce recovery and the work of Dr Bruce Fisher. We all go through a major adjustment process after separation and divorce. Bruce Fisher developed the rebuilding model for divorce recovery. He identified a 19-step process of adjustment we all go through with the loss of a love. We will discuss: • the divorce recovery journey • the rebuilding blocks that need to be climbed • ways to deal with each rebuilding block • ways to identify stumbling blocks • steps to help move through the blocks • Resources to help Throughout the divorce recovery journey tremendous emotional growth is possible despite the deep hurt from the relationship loss. Working through Bruce Fisher’s 19-step process we can all learn and grow for a more positive future. This is an interactive seminar which will provide valuable background and understanding for anyone going through separation or divorce. Our seminar series is informal and group discussions are encouraged. It is very helpful to learn from others’ experiences. So please, come along, bring a friend if you like and enjoy the talk and discussions. Afterwards we will cross the road to Brunetti's for those interested in a coffee and chat. We look forward to catching up.
