Worum es bei uns geht

We bring JS heroes and web hackers together.

Our events take place in a period of 2 - 3 months, at different local hosts which are located in northern Bavaria - better known as the beautiful Franconia :)

We love to connect our community with fantastic speakers, open source projects and companies.

Please also note our awesome sponsors which makes our events possible: http://meetup.com/FrankenJS/sponsors

The experiences I made in this time are the reason why I immediately fell in love with testing. So, let’s talk about TDD! TDD stand for Test-driven development and it’s not only a technique to write tests but also a design process in software development. I want to give you a new perspective on this process and explain how to TDD with the help of comparing it to how to train a dog. TDD has much in common with dog training, so at the end of my talk you should be able to write a piece of c test driven code, and also teach a dog a little trick - well, the last thing at least theoretically. I am a Software Developer leaning heavily on the Frontend side. My heart belongs to JavaScript and everything unit testing: Writing tests, seeing test pass, talk about tests. In my freetime I work on my project Conference Buddy and hang around in our awesome developer community. +++ Moving the web ahead with open tooling - Christian Heilmann, Microsoft, Berlin We’re in a good spot with the web. Most browsers are open and evergreen. Standards are getting applied much faster than they used to. Our web skills reach much further than building web sites. And yet we don’t get involved enough in the machinery that runs the web. In this talk Chris Heilmann, Principal Program Manager for Devtools on Edge in Microsoft will show how much more we could do with our skills and the tools at our disposal. Chris Heilmann dedicated the last 20 years of his life to make the web work and thrive. As a lead developer on some of the largest web products he learned that knowledge is not enough without teamwork and good handover. He dedicated most of his time since on educating, writing and sharing, presenting on average at 30 conferences a year. He strives to make code and coders work efficiently. He is the author of several JavaScript books and the Developer Evangelism handbook (http://developer-evangelism.com). He is currently a Senior Program Manager in Microsoft and spends a lot of time pondering how machine learning and AI can aid humans and replace jobs we're too important to do. +++ a11y - Accessibility - Joschi Kuphal, Tollwerk, Nuremberg This talk is about accessibility. A detailed abstract will be available soon ⏰ --- ❣️ Please respect our code of conduct. We follow the Berlin Code of Conduct https://berlincodeofconduct.org/
