Hi Data Scientists and Hi all those who wish to earn this fancy title,
We have prepared a deep-dive into the academic field for you this time. Our speakers this time are Professors, whom we love for two simple reasons: they are the ones who make first footsteps on the Moon of science and they are the ones who spark our curiosity. Pretty sure everyone of us had at Uni one admired and respected by you Professor that you loved. Or has now. This night we bring 3 universities on 1 stage! These are Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, Goethe University and University of Saarland.

Talk #1: THE AI REVOLUTION AND ITS IMPLICATIONS FOR EDUCATION
Prof. Dr. Visvanathan Ramesh from Goethe University, Electrical Engineer by training, system thinker by passion, will discuss both the state of data science as he perceives it as well as the need for platforms and new models of education to build the “systems thinkers” to take the young field forward.
Talk #2: THUNDERBOLT AND LIGHTNING AREN´T REALLY FRIGHTENING ME
Prof. Dr. Jens Dittrich from University of Saarland will shed some light on how a project of his used satellite collected data to predict lightning in both space and time. You can expect this talk to be as informative as entertaining, since Jens used to participate in Science slams and even the South German finals a few years back.
Talk #3: REMARKS ON LIBERAL DEMOCRACY AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Prof. Dr. Gregory Wheeler from Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, our long time resident and just a terrific person to talk with about any facet of data science && AI. This time he will share with us his thoughts on fusion of global social order, civilization and AI. A constellation of forces have come together to put stress on liberal democracies in ways that are obvious to see but sometimes obscure to understand. AI, and the tech industry more generally, have sometimes contributed to obscuring the issues. It does not need to be this way. This talk is an attempt to make plain some of the challenges to liberal democracy. Inviting everyone to take part in stand-up discussion.
