Meet other local fans of jazz & blues music while enjoying performances.
The San Francisco Bay Area is home to an amazing live music scene, with an assortment of venues that provide an intimate and affordable way to experience jazz, blues, and other genres of music as they're meant to be: spontaneous, inventive, and alive.
There's so much music happening in the Bay Area, there is something available every weekend for every taste and budget.
So join us, and use this Meetup group to connect with other music fans. We're mainly about listening to live jazz, but we also post blues shows, as well as tango, flamenco, world music, and cross-genre. In addition, we occasionally post theater events and films that have a music-related plotline or other "hook."
If you know about a show you'd like to see listed, feel free to suggest the event to Meetup organizers for hosting, or you can post the show on the "Discussions" page and invite your fellow Meetup members to attend with you.
Hope to see you at an upcoming show!

Time for our annual visit to 7-Mile House in Brisbane. A popular sports bar most of the week and a swinging jazz and blues joint on the weekends. We can have two groups, a 4:30 dining group and 6:30 jam group.
Vince Lateano's Dog House Jazz Jam sets a fun atmosphere with talented local musicians (Michael Zisman, Ben Stoloroff and Andrew Speight) and oftentimes with special guests. 2nd set is a jam with local talent offering a few surprises. This is jazz the way it got started and supported by the locals. If you want to get away from the crowds to a relaxed setting, low-cost, fun casual time, RSVP here.
Cover charge: Free, but please contribute to the tip jar.
Great place to have a meal with your jazz: many specials, Asian-fusion cuisine, discounted bottles of wine and tasty BBQ are a few examples. http://7milehouse.com I'll reserve a table for 6. I've changed the time to 4:30, so we have time to meet/greet, order food/drink before the music starts. Some of us might stay for the second set jam group, so let me know if that's your preference.
Ride-share encouraged: riders/drivers state your locations here. KT trolley stops one (long) block away.
Reminder: Meetup is a social organization, not an activity calendar. Please do not RSVP unless you're planning to sit and eat/drink with us. Late cancellations are frowned upon. A clear profile photo is required to find each other.
