Worum es bei uns geht

This is a group geared toward beginner to intermediate runners. We currently have 5 weekly runs - Saturday mornings, Sunday mornings, Wednesday mornings, Tuesday and Thursday evenings. MVARC is friendly and inclusive, we welcome runners of all ages and abilities.

Saturday mornings we start promptly at 8:30am outside Starbucks (1380 Pear Ave. Mountain View). We then walk & do active stretching as we make our way to the Stevens Creek Trail (at La Avenida). Our run is usually just a little over 3 miles, although you are welcome to go farther or run less if you wish (and you can walk too!). Afterwards we hang out at Starbucks for about 25 min. to have coffee together.

Sunday runs are usually longer distance runs and on trails, often at 7AM. The location and time varies so do check our calendar for updates.

Once a month, usually on the 4th Sunday, there is an easy 3 mile beginner run and book club, generally starting at 9AM in Pioneer Park (behind the Mountain View Library). Book Club starts at 10. You can do the run if you didn't read the book or come to book club if you don't run.

Monday runs start at 6pm at Landels School on Dana St. We usually run 3-7 miles on the Stevens Creek trail.

Tuesdays are speed workouts at the track at Crittenden Middle School starting at 6pm.

Wednesday morning runs are at 0630 and cover 4 miles through beautiful Shoreline Park. Meet at the trail head by Crittendon Middle School (1701 Rock Ave Mountain View).

Wednesday evening at 6pm (summer only) meeting at Rengstorff Park (201 S Rengstorff Ave, Mountain View). This is a one hour, outdoor CBC (cardio bootcamp) class, offering a full body workout with cardio and strength intervals.

The Thursday evening run meets March through October at the Donald M. Somers Water Treatment Plant in Sunnyvale and we run the Bay Trail starting at 6 PM. It usually is around 3-7 miles in distance, your choice. Those that want can go to dinner afterwards (at various locations). Over the winter time, Thursday runs move to Landels School on Dana St and we run the Stevens Creek trail with headlamps.

Please check out our calendar to see all of our activities (including races). We also have a Facebook page - Mountain View Area Run Club.

Even though there are a lot of people in this run club, we average about 20 participants every Saturday and a bit fewer on the other weekly runs. It's a lot of fun and a great way to make new friends! Come check it out!
