• Heimbach to Rurstausee

    Aachen, Hauptbahnhof

    Join us for a short stroll (11km, partially a bit steeper) from Rurberg (Rurstausee) via Monestery Mariawald to Heimbach. Starting from Rurberg we head up to Hongberg and Wildbretshügel to follow on to the Monestery Mariawald where we will have a short break for a coffe or some sightseeing. From there we go back down to catch the train from Heimbach to Aachen. Those who still haven't got enough can follow on your own to one of the next stations on the way to Düren. 9:12 o'clock Bus SB63 Aachen HBF to Simmerath, Bus 68 to Rurberg arriving there at 10:30o'clock. return: train from Heimbach to Aachen approx. 14:17 (goes hourly) arriving in Aachen 15:44 Please bring water and some comfortable shoes.     This hike will lead us through the beautiful valley of the river `hill`to the Weser Talsperre where we will have a breack for coffe or a small snack. On the way back we follow the river `Weser`to Eupen. With 20km it will be slightly longer than normal and has in total approx. 550m hightgain. Meeting point is Eupen Bushof at 10:00o´clock.     Come join us following the 'Wurm' through the beautiful 'Wurmtal'. We'll pass the old castle 'Wilhelmsburg' and end up at Lousberg where Aachen West Station is in close proximity.   • Hike from Abenden to Nideggen Castle (Medium, 10.2km, ~400m gain)

    Hi everyone, This time we will hike from Abenden to Nideggen Castle and then back to Nideggen. The route is rated as medium (13.2km) with the elevation gain of approx. 400m. Estimated hike duration is 3 hrs 45 mins.   • Aachener Wald - II - via Wolfsschlucht

    Lets catch some fresh air at the beginning of spring on a short walk through Aachener Wald. This time we start at Aachen Main Station, pass Hangeweiher and cross the Aachener Wald close to the Wolfsschlucht. Our way back leads us along Gillesbach via Burtscheid to main station.     As the weather gets better we start this year with a short and easy walk through the Aachener Wald. From Schanz we will follow Johannisbach towards Aachener Wald. Depending on the Group we continue to Dreiländerpunkt which would sum up to approx. 15km or turn east for a loop back to Aachen via Hangeweiher which would add up to 10 - 12km. Please bring walking shoes as pathes sometimes are muddy. Meetingpoint is the intersection An der Schanz/Boxgraben - Jakobstrasse. We will return to Aachen Main Station. Those who want can stop at Cafe Liege on the way back. Looking forward...
