This group welcomes all WordPress users, of all levels of experience.
Are you an aspiring user, an occasional user, a daily power user, a designer, a PHP programmer, or do you just think the word "WordPress" sounds cool? Whether or not you use WordPress daily for full featured websites and development or if you've just heard that you can make your own blog and website on your own, this group is for you.
This group was so founded by Adam Warner, who wanted to meet others using WordPress. Plain and simple. Like him, we expect that members will be willing to help each other and share their knowledge and advice about the various aspects of WordPress.
These could include:
Installation and configuration (with security in mind)
General usage (how I do I do xyz?)
Plugin and Themes (what themes and plugins work best for what you're trying to achieve?)
Developing your own themes
Developing your own plugins
...and anything else WordPress related...
We also hope that this group can foster networking between the entrepreneurial types who use WordPress (or could be using WP) and users who might be into developing custom themes and plugins.
So, c'mon, let's get together and talk WordPress shall we?
We're planning something special for our September event. We have a guest traveling to Sarasota from Webflow, and have invited top WordPress experts to take part of a head to head live debate and speed-build competition.
This event will be co-hosted with our local Webflow meetup group - https://www.meetup.com/Sarasota-Webflow-Meetup/
The debate will dive deep into the differences between the platforms, as well as their strengths and weaknesses.
In addition to the debate, there will be a speed build section where participants will race against each other as well as the clock to recreate various web design elements in either platform. All in real time.
After the debate and speed-build sections, we will host a Q&A with the audience to round out the event.
Stay tuned for more details as we get closer to the event.
