Swiss Perl Workshop 2018
The Swiss Perl Workshop 2018 will be held in Bern at Gewerblich-Industrielle Berufsschule, an industrial vocational school. The workshop will be held in English, although of course other languages are welcome. The workshop will take place on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th of September 2018 and thanks to the generosity of the school the workshop will be free to attend. As the venue is a technical school we hope to attract students and teachers, so this year's workshop may be an ideal place to promote Perl to those who have not yet heard of or used the language. Please spread the word, register, submit talks, and come enjoy a perl workshop in Switzerland's historic capital city. You will find more details over the coming weeks added to the official workshop site. We are looking for more sponsors. Interested? Please check the sponsoring page. If you (or your boss) like to support our workshop, consider to purchase a corporate attendees ticket. We are very proud and happy to have Curtis "Ovid" Poe, an experienced Perl developer and consultant, as our Keynote Speaker. He is active in the Perl community as member of the Perl Foundation Board Committee, author of "Beginning Perl" and of many CPAN modules. And there is his latest child, the Science Fiction based Massive Multiplayer Online Browser Game "Tau Station". And, we have been able to attract Jonathan Worthington again. He's the lead compiler architect of the MoarVM, the compiler for Perl 6. So we will get the latest progress in the Perl 6 area too. And I'm sure we will get some more Information on Cro, (not only) a web framework for Perl 6 again. And you can be sure there are many more talks about Perl 5, Gaming, Web frameworks, APIs, CPAN modules, and and and…

    Worum es bei uns geht

This is a group for anyone interested in the Perl Programming Language. I started this group because I wanted to meet Perlers from Switzerland and around. Looking forward to talking about Perl and having some drinks.
