- TW hosts: #causeascene Career Coaching Fair - Berlin 2019
We're happy to host #causeascene Berlin 2019 Career Coaching Fair Free entry ONLY for marginalized individuals in tech to attend the #causeascene Berlin 2019 Career Coaching Fair *****To get tickets and register please go to:***** https://ti.to/kim.crayton.llc/causeascene-conference-Berlin-2019 First and foremost, thank you for your interest in partnering with #causeascene Conference! Your support helps marginalized members of the community share their stories and further their careers. Building on the success of five #causeascene events in 2018, we have decided to include a career coaching fair to the Berlin 2019 event. This fair will connect marginalized folks in tech with career coaches who can advise them on their career choices and this is where you come in! We are looking for companies to send representatives to the Berlin 2019 edition of #causeascene Conference on June 8, 2019 at ThoughtWorks. The job fair will run from 10:00 - 16:00. Partnering with #causeascene is a great way to support marginalized folks in tech by providing them with the connections and coaching necessary to succeed in our industry. Questions and Answers What exactly is a Career Coaching fair? Job fairs are somewhat common at conferences and we’re bringing our spin on it to #causeascene Conf. Companies looking to hire, send representatives to these fairs and chat with attendees who are looking for a job. We’re mixing things up a bit though with a career coaching fair. A career coaching fair provides a space for folks looking for career advice and people willing to coach to connect. Coaching can include anything from answering coding questions, to job interviewing tips, to advice for navigating less-than-inclusive spaces as a member of marginalized group(s). What do I get as a partner? 1. You will be provided with a table and two or four chairs at the event, depending on your partnership level. You are encouraged to decorate your table with posters/banners promoting your company. 2. Your company name and logo will be posted on the event page under the “Career Coaching Partners” section at https://ti.to/kim.crayton.llc/causeascene-conference-Berlin-2019. 3. Finally, your company will be promoted on Twitter with a tweet from the official @causeasceneconf Twitter account. 4. Two tickets to the #causeascene Conf event that starts at 18:30 on June 3, 2019. If there are any other ways that you would like to partner with us, please reach out to us at [masked] to discuss a custom partner package. How much does it cost? A table with two chairs costs €500, and a table with four chairs cost €750. Who should I send? Anyone who can provide value to attendees! We want to see all types of technology and leadership roles at the career coaching fair. Send your coders, designers, support staff, Q&A, project managers, recruiters, and leadership staff. What will my sponsorship dollars support? Your sponsorship dollars will be used to cover costs of this and future #causeascene events, including catering, travel expenses for organizers, marketing, infrastructure, and other costs. Can I support #causeascene without sending employees to the fair? Yes! Email us at [masked] and we can discuss other ways of supporting the conference. Sounds great, how do I sign up? You can purchase sponsorship through Ti.to: ● Two table sponsorship: https://ti.to/kim.crayton.llc/causeascene-conference-Berlin-2019/with/itrfcjmqv-a ● Four table sponsorship: https://ti.to/kim.crayton.llc/causeascene-conference-Berlin-2019/with/kdo7fkdlmhg If you have any other questions, please email us at [masked] and we can discuss next steps. - TW hosts Creative AI - the emerging role of AI in Art and Design
Please sign up over the Towards and Beyond group: https://www.meetup.com/Towards-and-Beyond-Imagining-Digital-Futures/events/261253525/ What is creativity and why is it important? How is AI changing traditional notions of creativity in the world of Art and Design? What does it mean for the society, especially artists, designers and technologists? Join us for our first event as we explore the evolving role of AI in creative industries. We begin with Jo Bowey discussing creativity and its value in our daily lives. For most people, being creative is the attribute that goes at the core of what it means to be a human being. But, is this really the case? Valerio Velardo challenges the traditional anthropocentric view, providing a broad interpretation of creativity which extends to machines and animals. Moving from art to design, Gunnar Graupner and Dragan Filipovic showcase a machine learning prototype to automate design processes. The prototype transforms hand-crafted wireframes into web components which can be directly shown in Adobe Experience Manager as rendered HTML. PROGRAM 7:00pm - Doors 7:10pm - "What is creativity and Why is it important?" by Jo Bowey 7:30pm - "Beyond anthropocentric creativity" by Valerio Velardo 7:50pm - Pause 8:00pm - "Design with machine learning" by Gunnar Graupner, Dragan Filipovic, and supported by Saulo De Souza and Paulo Chang 8:45pm - Networking 9:30pm - End SPEAKER BIOS Jo Bowey is a Psychology teacher from London, who recently moved to Berlin to experience life in Germany. She has completed a Masters degree in Psychoanalysis, and is on her way to qualifying as a counsellor. She has a longstanding interest in what makes a mind healthy, and believes that being creative is a part of this puzzle. Valerio Velardo is CEO and co-founder of Melodrive, a startup company that operates in the AI music space. He has a PhD in music and AI from the University of Huddersfield, UK. Valerio has spent the last ten years teaching computers how to create music autonomously. In his research, he has developed an AI multi-agent system that is capable of simulating a society of virtual songwriters that produce rock songs and develop their own musical style. Valerio has also studied astrophysics at degree level and, in another life, has worked as pianist, composer and conductor. Gunnar Graupner is a Principal UX Consultant at Netcentric. He has almost 20 years Experience as a UX Consultant, Information Architect, and Product Owner working for sectors like Telecommunication, Assurances, Banking and Automotive. He has also led up to 20 people in cross-functional product teams. Besides his daily business, he has a passion for building products that make life smarter. Gunnar is accompanied in his talk by Dragan Filipovic (FE), and supported by Saulo De Souza (ML, BE) and Paulo Chang (BE).

- Meetup.ai Berlin Special: The business value of ethical AI
To register please go to: https://www.meetup.com/meetupai-Berlin/events/260258232/ Special Business Event This event will be a special collaboration between Meetup.ai and Anna Gudmundson to focus on the business side of the AI discussion. The conversation will specifically benefit people with decision making responsibilities regarding the topic, but who may not necessarily come from a tech background. Why now? A significant portion of executives announce that their respective businesses will either invest in, or have already initiated, exploration or innovation in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. However, very few have a strategy, team structure, risk management or other processes in place. When handing over certain decisions to machines, and in particular when dealing with human-generated data, the risks to violate company values - and the law - increase. We will explore where AI really is today, and what kind of moral and ethical risks there are currently in AI development and products. We’ll also be talking about what the future holds for business-ready AI. The subjects will be explored by individual speakers and in a multidisciplinary panel, including experts Dr. Jose Quesada, Mike Richardson, Surya Emmylinda, Anna Gudmundson and others.
- TW hosts: Meetup.ai Berlin #2.3 AI, Art and Collaboration
To register please go to : https://www.meetup.com/meetupai-Berlin/events/259528031/ Meetup.ai has partnered up with Melodrive to provide a special event about an interesting and often requested topic: AI and Art. For those that are new to the scene, here is what you will need to know: This series takes place at the first Wednesday of the month and entail a mix of networking and entertainment, with pretzels/drinks and fellow minded friends as well hands-on, real-life examples of AI in action. For the first time in meetup.ai history, we will also have a panel, which will allow for a deeper discussion of this complicated and exciting topic. Tonight you’ll receive expert insight into how the imminent artificial intelligence revolution will leave a lasting mark on the world of art. The AI industry is growing at a rapid pace, reshaping every sphere of society. The argument that the creative industries won’t be affected because ‘they’re unique to the human experience’, no longer applies. It’s already prevalent in the music industry through platforms like Spotify, and apps like Jambl. Not only are musicians and artists creatively integrating AI into their expression, but they’re also connecting the dots that AI can improve their workflow and output. Bringing these two worlds together could lead to a beautiful masterpiece. -Schedule for the Evening 18:15- Doors Open 18:45- “The rise of the creative AI”, by by Valerio Velardo 19:15-“Artificial poetry”, by Christian Mio Loclair 19:45- Pause 20:00- “How’s AI fundamentally changing how musicians and artists create?”, panel moderated by Helen Meyer 21:15 - Networking 22:00- Doors Close Special Thanks for ThoughtWorks for hosting and being our partner for the Data and Drinks 2.0 series and for the Good Technology Collective and Melodrive for their support.
