The third volume of the Data Science Café is around the corner! Join us on February 9th at A1 where the DSCafe will be hosted again.
To all of you who aren't familiar with the DSCafe yet, have a look here: DSC Presentation (http://bit.ly/2ExZEL2)
You can participate regardless of your experience in Data Science, just bring some enthusiasm and the willingness to talk to like-minded people around you.
We are happy to see a strong development towards becoming an actual community of people who gather (also outside of the DSCafe's scope) and collectively work towards developing their skills.
We believe that this is a wonderful development and want to take a second to thank all of you who are embracing this idea and thus contribute to the success of the DSCafe.
We want to point out that the focus of the DSCafe goes from hands-on-coding towards community development. We are most certainly happy to see you coding with others but as it turns out what DSCafe-attendees are primarily looking for is an environment which facilitates communication, exchange of ideas, getting to know other like-minded people, finding out how to pursue a career in Data Science, etc. We want you to use this space for enriching your network with Data Science practitioners. In this regard we'd also like to announce the following event organized by the Wikimedia Foundation, where you will dive into SPARQL and learn how to utilize the language to answer questions. As usual, if you are planning to attend, let us know by sending an email to [masked] - or just let us know your email address in the mandatory field while RSVPing.
Just remember our principles:
• It is all up to you.
• Stay cool, stay honest.
What we provide: As usual, we are going to provide a nice location, refreshments and snacks, Wifi, resources and coaching to support the 3 modes and a shared R-infrastructure which you are free to use!
• What to bring
A laptop, headsets, writing utensils, collaborative mindset, willingness to apply Data Science and potentially your ideas.
