Dear Machine Learning community,

please consider submitting an extended abstract for presentation to the 3 rd Swiss Conference on Data Science, presented by SAP. Best contributions have the chance to be get published in an upcoming book on Applied Data Science. Feel free to forward this call to interested colleagues.


We invite best practice- and use case-oriented talks with technical depth and practical applicability in all areas of Data Science. Demos and show-cases are highly welcome. Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):

  • Data product design, data-centric business models
  • Applications of machine learning and analytics
  • Demonstration and evaluation of tools and technologies for big (and small) data
  • Visualization and communication of results
  • Ethics and privacy in relation to Data Science
  • Best practices in Data Science and lessons learned

The duration of each talk is 30 minutes.

Important Dates

  • 16 May 2016: Extended abstract submission deadline
  • 4 July 2016: Author notification
  • 2 September 2016: Conference registration ends
  • 16 September 2016: Conference takes place in Winterthur


Submissions should have a maximum length of two pages and contain all of the following elements: an abstract, a description of the target audience, an outline of the intended talk and a short biography. Each contribution should be written in English and submitted at:­

The Program Committee will carefully review the abstracts. Excellent content and presentations as demonstrated in the submission are mandatory for acceptance. Accepted talks will be presented in English language by the authors at the workshop.
