Tonight will be the first of three classes taught by Todd Kupper Sensei, 6. dan, the Vice President of Aikido Kokikai Federation in the US and founder of Keystone Kokikai Aikido in Philadelphia, the current headquarters of Kokikai in the United States. Todd has been a student of Sensei Maruyama for most of his life and is an extremely talented practitioner of our martial art. We are very lucky to have him as our guest this week!
Todd will be joined by:
Jason Martin, 5. dan, senior instructor at Keystone Kokikai Aikido and the founder of Chester County Kokikai Aikido.
Michael Charlton, 3. dan, instructor at Keystone Kokikai Aikido.
Laura Rosenbloom, 3. dan, instructor at Keystone Kokikai Aikido.
Max Lent, 3. dan, head instructor at Aikido Kokikai NYC.
We have never had so many high ranking instructors on the mat at the same time before, so this is definitely a series of classes you should not miss! They are very excited to be visiting us in Berlin, as well, so let's make sure they have a great time.
Be prepared to level up your Aikido—and be prepared to go out with us after class to get to know our guests better. They are my mentors, colleagues, and friends in Kokikai Aikido. I can't wait for you to meet them.
As always, beginners are welcome—your first class is free!
Arrive a bit early so you have time to change. If it's your first class, try to wear comfortable clothing for working out, preferably loose fitting garments that cover most of your body. Aikido involves falling and grabbing, and we don't want to damage your favorite T-shirt or yoga outfit. Lockers and showers are available.
Please make sure your fingernails and toenails are trimmed, and remove or cover any jewelry you may be wearing before class.
Read our About page (http://kokikai.de/) for more information, and come say hello to us on Facebook (http://bit.ly/aikido-berlin-facebook).
