19:00 - "SQL - on raw data?!"
Speaker: Michael Muck (Saxonia Systems)
Serverless development is being a trend in the cloud for quite some time now, albeit mostly used for compute and infrastructure. For databases and data warehousing there are several managed services saving the user the hassle of maintaining the underlying instances.
AWS Athena is taking the approach one step further enabling you to use SQL queries on raw, (semi-)structured data saved in S3 Buckets - without the need of an actual database.
In this talk we will have a look at Athena and its use-cases as well as a demo showing how to use Athena including some possible optimizations.

20:00 - "Using Infrastructure to Drive Culture - How Amboss enabled autonomous teams with the right technology and DevOps"
Speaker: Elmar Weber
This talk will cover how changes in software development impacted requirements for infrastructure operations and changes in culture and how Amboss deploys and develops software. Over the last year, Amboss scaled engineering from 15 to 50 people, changed the way they execute product management, develop software and organize teams. In addition, you will hear about the important role of DevOps culture and infrastructure operations in this process, of course all tied back to how Amboss did this on AWS.
