You sit next to your pair, sharing a computer.
Thinking out loud, the keyboard regularly switching hands, ideas are exchanged and sketched out. You don’t know this language that well? That’s fine, you learn from each other. No need to struggle through it on your own - instead you keep each other focused and moving forward. This is how great code is written!
Take small steps to explore and solve the problem. Start with a test and then make it pass. Tests keep us sane as we reshape and extend the code, running the tests after each change to tell us that everything still works as before, that’s test driven development.
This workshop is for you if you haven’t heard of pair programming or test driven development before and want to find out how to do it, or you are already a practitioner and want to get in some exercise!
Please bring your laptop, we recommend that you create a new user profile called “pairing” or similar, that’s not logged into your email and facebook and so on. Make sure that you have a working development environment, where you can run code and write tests in your favorite language.
