Worum es bei uns geht

Would you like to hike but have limited time or are just getting started? Have you started hiking already but would prefer company? Hikes in this group will be approximately 2-hours in length at places across the Phoenix Valley. Start times for hiking will vary due to outside temperature. This group is perfect for the beginner hiker or family hikers that are looking for a group that is not in a rush when hiking.

Keep in mind that "beginner" does not mean "sedentary". If you never go hiking or seldom exercise, you have some work to do before joining us. Read our what to expect page (http://www.meetup.com/phoenix-beginner-hikers/pages/What_to_expect_on_a_hike/) and get some fitness first. Only then should you try one of our hiking events. Start with hikes labeled " EASY ". Then work your way up.

The gorgeous views of the lake, wildlife, and the surrounding forest are well worth the trip! We'll stop along the way to do our yoga practice lead by Shelley K! Bring plenty of water, snacks for the trail, and sun protection of some sort. When you RSVP, let me know if you're going to meet at the carpool location or at the trailhead.
