January Topic: Google Hummingbird - Responding to Algorithm Changes & Ensuring SEO Success in 2014
Speaker: Matt Lacuesta, SEO Account Manager at Location3 Media
The recent Google Hummingbird update is the biggest change in the company’s algorithm since 2001. Google is working on understanding the intent of a user’s search and not just the keywords within in it. At the January meetup we’ll discuss how the algorithm changed as well as how it impacts the way Google provides search results moving forward. We’ll also go over things we can do to ensure success in 2014. Matt Lacuesta is a local internet marketer with a focus on SEO. He has worked for local Internet Marketing agencies as well as internally in the financial services industry. His SEO experience spans local businesses, reputation management, ecommerce, franchises as well as campaign management for national brands. As the industry is always changing, Matt enjoys meeting up with local professionals in the industry and participating in knowledge sharing as there are not enough hours in the day to keep up on everything AND get any work done. Research, testing, analysis, and performance are what make the work fun, while the thrill of the hunt to find fixes and optimizations for clients really gets the blood flowing. He is currently an Account Manager at Location3 Media and manages campaigns for some of the agency’s SEO clients. Matt hails from the Buckeye state and is an outdoorsman, gardener, and Jeopardy! enthusiast.
