In no particular order: Julie Otsuka, Tolstoy, Ray Bradbury, Kim Barnes, Fitzgerald
One of my biggest challenges is maintaining focus. I like to write pieces in one or two sittings, and I sometimes find it difficult to give pieces the critical eye necessary to do heavy edits and make them as polished as they possibly can be. Also, I have problems with creating scenes at times. My powers of visualization are weak sometimes, so it's hard for me to set a really poignant and vivid scene when I don't have a real-world place/experience in mind.
I'm a person who believes in the power of depth in human connection. I love taking time to look at the little details and focus most of my writing on essays and literary fiction. I love food, music and dancing.
